Our Training packages are designed around a 30-day programme, giving your dog consistent, structured 1-1 time with a professional trainer to build real, lasting progress.
Choose the level of commitment that works best for you:
- 4 Hours – 1 hour per week | A great starting point for foundational skills and building confidence. Perfect for dogs new to training, issues like lead manners, pulling, jumping up.
- 8 Hours – 2 hours per week | Double the 1-1 time means faster progress and deeper learning. Sessions can be taken as 1-hour sessions twice a week, or a single 2-hour session once a week — depending on the level of work you want to achieve. Ideal for working through more complex behaviours with greater consistency. Ideal for mild reactivity, sharpening up that focus and attention in more crowed settings.
- 12 Hours – 3 hours per week | Maximum immersion. Sessions can be taken as individual 1-hour sessions 3 times a week or compounded into 3-hour sessions for deeper, more intensive work, fighting the problem where the problem happens while still allowing the time for the training to sink in. With the highest level of personalised attention, your dog benefits from accelerated development and a stronger bond — all within 30 days.
The more hours you commit to, the greater the savings — and the better the results. More 1-1 time means more opportunities to reinforce learning, correct habits faster, and see real transformation every session from the first 1 min to the last.
All packages include access to our Group WhatsApp for free advice, 24/7 support, and special invites to group events.

James has been a brilliant trainer he had Reggie worked out within minutes and knew exactly what to do. He has helped take Reggie from an anxious dog who barked at everything he saw to a much more confident and happy dog which has made all our lives so much better and we can now enjoy our walks with him. Thank you James.
James has easily been the best dog trainer we've worked with. Filo has come on leaps and bounds in such a short space of time and it's so great to see. James is really down to earth and honest, exactly what you need to do such a job! Can't thank him enough already!
Me and Ralph (my 1 year old cocker spaniel) have been working with James for a few months. From the very beginning I could see improvements with Ralph’s behaviour and attention.
James will always give praise where it’s due and he’s also very understanding that sometimes ‘life gets in the way’.
James will try different methods with Ralph to try and find the one that works best for him, he understands that not all dogs will learn the same!
James will always respond to any questions/ queries I have, even if it’s late at night, he will always try his best to give the best advice.
Since our first session with James our dog, Abe, has been so much better. He's happier on walks and really enjoys the structure and lessons. He really loves his lessons and James has worked amazing with him and his individual needs.
It's also been great being able to get family involved and have a session at home too, everyone's been impressed and we are all able to enjoy our dog more!
Had 3 sessions with James and the only way to describe him is the dog whisperer! Not only has my 13-week-old Cavapoo learnt so much, but so have I. In just 3 sessions, Daisy can now sit, lie down, spin, has good recall, and is now crate trained. I’m amazed at how much we’ve achieved in such a short space of time. Thank you so much, James!
James is a fantastic trainer, very patient and genuinely wants the best for the dogs and their owners. Lolly is a 9 year old rescue Parsons Russell with anxiety and on-lead reactivity to other dogs. Under James’ expert guidance, not only has she made real progress, but my confidence in handling her in different situations has also grown. As well as training the dog, James also educates the owner to recognise specific triggers and how to deal with them calmly. He is also able to give real insights into breed specific characteristics and adapts his training to the individual needs of the dog and their owners. Working with James is enjoyable, rewarding and definitely educational - so glad he was recommended to me.
After seeing James work with other dogs in the park, I decided to get in touch with James to see how he'd get on with Elvis, my 2 year old miniature dachshund.
Even though we had been to puppy classes with Elvis, we found that his nervousness and reactivity towards other dogs never improved, and had worsened since an incident with a bigger dog. Within minutes of meeting James, he suggested an improve ment that I could make which had an immediate impact on Elvis' ability to tolerate other dogs; we have had several sessions in the park with James, and after putting his training into practice, the improvements that we have seen are immeasurable.
Elvis has gone from not being able to tolerate being in a room with other dogs to now being able to sit patiently in the vets waiting room where other dogs are barking, and being able to wait in a queue with me in a very noisy and busy cafe without any problems; these are both things I never thought would be achieved
James works with how you behave and respond just as much as with your dog, and gives clear, practical guidance to ensure that you are able to be consistent with your dog, and from doing this, Elvis seems so much calmer in himself as he knows what to expect and what our boundaries are.
I cannot recommend James enough. I now actively look forward to taking Elvis out and about, whereas previously it had become a real source of anxiety for me
We contacted James when we were at a bit of a breaking point with our 8 month Labrador. Our sessions with James have been life changing.
Beforehand we felt like we were putting in so much time and effort with no impact. James' guidance helped us understand exactly what we were doing right and wrong.
He has given us the tools to be so much more confident and successful, and has helped not just us to understand our dog, but our dog to understand us.
He is patient, kind and knowledgeable, but also does not hold back on telling you exactly what you need to be told (not just what you want to be told).
If you love your dog, I couldn't recommend James more highly. He will change your life and your dog's life for the better.
I honestly can’t recommend James enough! From the first session, you could tell how much he genuinely cares about both the dogs and their owners. He really took the time to get to know my dog’s personality and tailored everything to suit us perfectly.
The difference we’ve seen has been amazing — my dog is more confident, better behaved, and actually enjoys training now. James is so patient, friendly, and easy to work with, and he explains everything in a way that’s simple to understand and practice at home.
If you’re looking for a kind, knowledgeable, and reliable dog trainer who truly gets results, I’d absolutely recommend James :)
I can’t recommend James highly enough. He have completely transformed the way I walk and work with my Labrador, Monty. Before training, walks were almost impossible, but thanks to James' patience, knowledge, and clear guidance, we now feel much more confident handling and understanding Monty and what he needs from a walk.
We have all learned so much from James as a family. Training sessions were enjoyable, professional, and tailored to our needs, they are easy to follow, effective, and always focused on building a positive relationship between me (us) and my Labrador . I’m genuinely grateful for all the help and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a skilled and caring dog trainer.
James started with us as a regular dog walker, and told us that he was in the process of becoming a qualified dog trainer. We’ve always had issues with our reactive rescue dog and always thought that he was too far gone to be “fixed”.
From the moment James came into our house, he was rolling around with Zeus wrestling on the floor. At the time, I was worried the worst was going to happen and it would end up in a blood bath. I couldn’t be more wrong, they’re practically inseparable whenever they’re together - I can’t recommend him highly enough.
The level of care he has for dogs he looks after and trains is second to none. He’s given me the tools and confidence to deal with our dogs reactivity properly, as well as working on his recall, and allowed our walks to become a lot more enjoyable. I used to actively avoid busy places, parks, streets etc. I always went out of the way to try and prevent a stressful walk, when in fact I needed to expose Zeus to triggers and handle them better than I used to. James breaks things down easily and makes things sound so simple. Opting to train Zeus through “work” and “play” which he has responded to so well. He has also explained the importance of mental stimulation. I really cannot recommend him enough, the difference I’ve seen in my dog now is night and day and makes walks and play so much more fulfilling. Thanks James!
We couldn’t be happier with James and the progress our puppy has made from 3 to 10 months old.
He’s taught us the importance of mental stimulation over just walking, especially with a HPR/working breed, and has been clear about being firm and consistent — even pulling us up when we slack or get distracted as humans. It’s helped us realise how important structure and boundaries are, and how a well-balanced dog actually gives us more freedom in our own lives.
He’s a genuinely nice person, very straight-talking, and always honest — which we’ve really valued.
The change in our puppy says it all. We went from a dog who had a board up at every puppy class and constantly chewed or bit out of excitement and boredom, to one people now comment is calm (especially for a Vizsla!).
We found him through word of mouth, and it’s honestly the best decision we ever made. Highly recommend. Thanks James!
Booking an assessment with Paws to Peaks was one of the best decisons we have ever made for our 6 year old rescue Jack Russel Terrier Pip.
We booked a block of 4 training sessions and after the first one we learned loads and Pip was calmer, not pulling on the lead as much, listening to us more and so much happier!
James worked on a personalised training plan that makes training a game for Pip. She is having fun while learning and it encourages her to want to be a good girl. We still have some work to do with her confidence around bigger dogs, however I know that James will help with this.
I would definitely recommend Paws to Peaks!
found James just to help train my puppy Winnie I was just hoping for at least one good dog I was very wary of trainers after the last one I had to help me with my rescue dog which did not go well at all and not helpful for his needs I was very truthful about how I felt but he changed my mind winnie is a well trained one year old puppy so I took a leap of faith and ask him to help with max I had got him so far but needed help for the last bit, unfortunately buddy got attacked by two dogs which caused different problems so James had 3 dogs all with different needs and gave me different techniques to deal with all 3 so move on nearly a year all dogs get walk together we sometimes have the odd bit of barking but I know how to stop it so comes to nothing which at one time max would bark just seeing a dog at top off a road when he was at the bottom
Murphy started training just over 4 weeks ago and I couldn’t recommend james enough. Not only has he taught Murphy lots he’s also taught me things I didn’t even think about. James is very good at what he does. The improvement I’ve seen over the last few weeks is amazing .I can’t wait to see what the next sessions bring.
